Open Call: NAWA Spinaker Print-Media in Contemporary Art Hybrid Course

The Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław invites applications for the intensive international course Print Media in Contemporary Art, delivered within the SPINAKER – Intensive International Education Programmes, funded by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) and the European Union under the FERS programme.

The course is addressed to students, PhD candidates, and academic staff of foreign higher education institutions interested in contemporary printmaking and experimental print media practices.

Application deadline: 22 December 2025 (noon).

Dates and Format: Hybrid format:
12–16 January 2026mandatory on-site classes (workshops and mentoring sessions), between 9:30 am to 3:30 pm.
Location: The Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław

19 January 2026online seminar led by international lecturers, between 9 am to 4 pm.

Please note: Participation requires full on-site attendance during all workshop days. Partial or remote participation in the workshops is not possible.

 

About the Course

Print Media in Contemporary Art is an intensive international programme exploring printmaking as an expanded experimental field, connecting traditional techniques with digital, hybrid, and post-digital practices. It combines an international seminar, a five-day Print Research Lab, artistic mentoring, and collaborative work in an interdisciplinary setting.

Classes are led by an international team of artists and researchers, including:

1. Monika Lukowska, PhD (Curtin University, Perth, Australia)

2. Michael W. Schneider, prof. (Tokyo University of the Arts, Japan)

3. Vinicius Libardoni, PhD (NYU Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates),

4. Patricia Villalobos Echeverría, PhD( Gwen Frostic School of Art, Western Michigan University, USA)

5. Aleksandra Janik, prof. (Oslo National Academy of Fine Arts / The Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wroclaw, Poland)

6. Paweł Puzio, PhD (The Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wroclaw, Poland)

7. Wojciech Kołacz, MFA (The Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wroclaw, Poland).

Who Can Apply?

The open call is addressed to:

  • students of foreign higher education institutions,
  • PhD candidates of foreign higher education institutions,
  • academic staff of foreign higher education institutions.

  2. Personal data form (Attachment no. 2)
  3. Signed GDPR clauses (Attachment no. 3)
  4. Your portfolio (PDF, 10 works, max. last 3 years),
  5. Your CV (max. 1 A4 page),
  6. Document confirming your status:
  • for international students, e.g. student ID card with validity date or certificate from the home institution confirming student status;
  • for international doctoral candidates, e.g. doctoral student ID card or certificate from the home institution confirming doctoral status;
  • for international lecturers, e.g. certificate of employment from the institution or a scan of the employment contract showing the period of employment (without sensitive data).

Applications will be evaluated by a recruitment committee.
Applicants will be informed of the results by email by 24 December 2025
