We invite you to the opening, which will take place at Bulvary on September 13.

The exhibition “Semiography” at Bulvary is conceived as an experimental space in which writing is liberated from its communicative function and transformed into a pure visual structure. Monika Aleksandrowicz creates models of illegible language – asemic inscriptions where gesture, rhythm, and repetition take the place of meaning.

The works presented form a laboratory of the sign – sequences and configurations that resemble rhythmic notations, architectural frameworks, and structures pulsing with repetition. Rather than proposing a single interpretation, the artist invites the viewer to experience writing as a process: open, continuously modified, and eluding fixed semantics.

The Wrocław iteration of the project emphasizes the processual character of Semiography – the sign becomes a material for testing, research, and transformation, while the act of writing itself shifts toward the performative, almost ritual gesture. Here, language ceases to function as an instrument and instead becomes a space in which one can closely observe the tension between form and meaning.

Monika Aleksandrowicz – visual artist, curator, and lecturer at the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław. In her artistic practice, she explores the boundaries of communication and perception, experimenting at the intersection of art, philosophy, and mathematics.
