STER Internationalisation of Doctoral Schools

The project runs from 3 January 2022 to 31 December 2024.

The aim of the project 'Comprehensive internationalisation of the Doctoral School at the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław', implemented as part of the National Academic Exchange Agency's programme 'STER - Internationalisation of Doctoral Schools', is to develop systemic support for the internationalisation of doctoral education.

As part of the implementation of the project, 15 tasks were envisaged, including: payment of scholarships for foreign doctoral students, foreign artistic and research internships for doctoral students, participation of foreign supervisors, evaluators and reviewers in the process of doctoral training, foreign visits of lecturers and visiting professors, courses for staff and doctoral students in Virtual Exchange, study visits to leading artistic and research centres, and the organisation of an international conference on artistic research. The Director of the Agency awarded the University funds of PLN 1,069,690.16 for the implementation of the Project.

The project is supervised and supervised by the Dean of the Doctoral School - Jakub Jernajczyk, Ph.

SPINAKER

The project runs from 1 July 2021 to 31 August 2023.

The aim of the project "Spinnaker 2021-23- Artistic spinning" is the creation and implementation of 4 Intensive International Training Programmes in the fields of: artistic glass, antique glass, artistic printmaking and art theory in the form of specialised courses, in a remote formula.

The courses are aimed at international students and doctoral students from all over the world, with particular attention to the needs of people with disabilities. The educational process within the IMPK will be enriched by knowledge gained by the didacticians in specialised training in the area of teaching methodology for people with disabilities and in the operation of remote learning infrastructure. For the purposes of the project, it is planned to purchase, among others, a digital microscope, an interactive whiteboard and a visualiser.

WELCOME TO POLAND

The project runs from 1 October 2019 to 30 September 2021.
Project coordinator: Kinga Bacewicz, MA.

The main objective of the project is to increase the level of internationalisation of the E. Geppert Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław (ASP).

The Project will implement specific objectives resulting from the main objective, i.e..:

1) strengthening the potential of the scientific and administrative staff by improving their linguistic and intercultural competences through:
a. training on cultural differences for teaching and administrative staff (in English),
b. financing a trip to the PIE - Platform for Internationalisation ELIA training course for 4 administrative staff (mainly employees of the International Cooperation Office);

2) Strengthening the organisational capacity of the ASP in serving foreign students and staff and making them more comfortable and facilitating their acclimatisation, by:
a. designing and implementing an English-language signage system for buildings and premises,
b. adapting the library system for international students,
c. launching a 24/7 Emergency Contact Number, which is a 24-hour security telephone line for receiving emergency calls from students.

3) Development of ASP activities related to internationalisation "at home" and building relationships between students and staff from abroad and students and staff from Poland. This will be realised through:
a. organising a Welcome Week (4 x times during the Project) for incoming Erasmus+ students and for foreign students starting their studies in English,
b. enabling the purchase of foreign publications for the ASP Library, according to the needs of students and lecturers,
c. organisation of international artistic meetings by and for students (8 meetings during the Project).

PROM - International scholarship exchange for doctoral students and academic staff

The project runs from 1 October 2019 to 31 March 2023.

The aim of the Programme is to improve the competencies of doctoral students and academic staff from Poland and abroad through international scholarship exchange.

The project involves:

1) participation of doctoral students and academic staff members (11+6) from ASP in Wrocław in international conferences.

2) participation of doctoral students and academic staff members (6+2) from ASP in Wrocław in summer school trips.

3) participation of doctoral students (20) from abroad in short scholarship exchanges (7-day trip) as part of events organised by ASP in Wrocław:
a. participation in an international exhibition for doctoral students from abroad at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław;
b. a study visit to the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław offering the opportunity to use the unique infrastructure of the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław.

Due to war in the Ukraine, NAWA has enabled new task in the program, which is payment of scholarships for Ukrainian students. In the winter semester of 2022/2023, 17 students from Ukraine, who attend ASP as a part of bilateral agreement, is getting help offered by the PROM program.

STER

The project runs from 1 May 2019 to 30 December 2022.

The assumption of the project is to internationalise the Doctoral School by increasing the attractiveness of the offer addressed to foreign candidates for the Doctoral School at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław.

The programme assumes, in particular: an increase in the number of foreign doctoral students studying in Poland, increasing the attractiveness of the offer of Polish institutions among candidates for doctoral students from abroad, attracting foreign doctoral students through the offer of scholarships.

Project funds are earmarked for the implementation of activities aimed at attracting foreign doctoral students (promotion of recruitment to the Doctoral School at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław) and payment of scholarships for the best results/academic/artistic achievements for up to 50% of foreign doctoral students starting their education within the Doctoral School at the Academy from 1 October 2019.
