General rules
The first stage of the recruitment process will start on 16 June 2026 and will continue until 25 June 2026, 2:00 p.m. During this period, candidates may register in the Electronic Recruitment System and complete the application form.
The Doctoral School of the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław offers education in two language modes: Polish and English.
The admission limit to the Doctoral School for the academic year 2026/2027 is :
- 4 people for the English language mode
- 3 people for the Polish language mode
Candidates wishing to pursue education in English must present a document confirming their knowledge of English at B2 level (a diploma of completed studies in English or a language certificate).
Candidates interested in studying in Polish must present a document confirming their knowledge of any foreign language at B2 level (a diploma of completed studies in a foreign language or a language certificate) and demonstrate a good command of the Polish language, enabling fluent communication.
The list of recognised certificates constitutes Appendix No. 1 to the Recruitment conditions and rules for the Doctoral School at the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław for the Academic Year 2026/2027.

All candidates are required to pay the recruitment fee of 250 PLN or 60 EUR
The following tabs describe the next stages of the recruitment process and specific deadlines.
1. The choice of supervisor
Candidates interested in pursuing education at the Doctoral School should contact a potential supervisor from the list published on the ASP website and consult with them regarding their draft doctoral dissertation. Indicating a specific supervisor and providing details of their opinion will be required to complete the online application form and participate in the recruitment process.

2. Completing the application form in the online system
From 16.06 to 25.06.2026 (until 2 p.m. local time zone, Warsaw), candidates will be able to register in the Electronic Recruitment System and complete the application form.
Completion of the application form in online system is tantamount to the submission of the application to the Doctoral School.
The online application form includes:
- choice of the language mode of education
- a curriculum vitae containing information on education, professional experience and artistic and/or project-research achievements (max. 3000 characters without spaces),
- a portfolio that documents the artistic and/or design output (a set of images and/or video files)- set of images and/or video files. minimum 10, maximum 20 files (for static images: JPEG or PNG files, RGB, 72 dpi, longer side 1920 px, from 10 to 20 pieces; for moving images: mp4 file, H.264 encoding format, video standard: HD 1280x720 or FullHD 1920x1080px, duration up to 5 minutes, 5 pieces maximum; note: PDF or other multi-page formats are not allowed),
- a proposal of the topic and scope of the doctoral dissertation, including the description of the project, including: the assumed objectives of the project, the hypotheses, the envisaged research methods and the preliminary bibliography (max. 3000 characters without spaces),
- an indication of the name of a potential supervisor chosen from the list of potential supervisors published on the ASP website,
- the opinion of the chosen supervisor on the proposed doctoral dissertation project,
- the contact details to two reference persons with whom the recruitment committee may consult and verify the candidate,
- a scan of the diploma confirming completion of second-cycle (Master’s) studies or long-cycle Master’s studies, or a doctoral diploma (in the case of diplomas obtained outside Poland, the scan must include the diploma supplement or another equivalent document issued by the higher education institution, containing a list of completed courses and grades obtained, e.g. a transcript of records),
- a scan of a certificate confirming foreign language proficiency at the level of at least B2 (in accordance with Appendix no. 1 to the Recruitment conditions and rules to the Doctoral School at the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wroclaw), or a diploma of graduation in a foreign language,
- a personal questionnaire filled in electronic form together with an ID photo,
- a scan of ID or passport,
- electronic confirmation of payment of the recruitment fee,
- confirmation that the candidate has familiarized themselves with the Regulations of the Doctoral School, the Doctoral School Curriculum, the Recruitment conditions and rules for the Doctoral School at the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław and Procedure for conferring the degrees of Doctor and Doctor Habilitatus at the E. Geppert Academy of Art and Design, and accepts the contents of these documents
For diplomas, diploma supplements, and certificates issued in a language other than Polish or English, translations prepared by a Polish sworn translator are required.
3. Evaluation of the documentation
By 01.07.2026, the recruitment committee will evaluate the materials submitted through the online system. The following will be assessed:
- Candidate's work and portfolio (score: 0-10 points)
- Proposal for the topic and scope of the doctoral dissertation (score: 0-12 points)
- Potential for scientific and didactic cooperation with the supervisor (score: 0-4 points)
No more than:
- 20 candidates (applying for the Doctoral School in English)
- 10 candidates (applying for the Doctoral School in Polish)
may be qualified for the second stage of the recruitment
4. Interview
Between 06 and 08 July 2026, the committee will conduct online interviews in English or Polish, depending on the chosen mode of education.
The recruitment committee will assess candidates' in-depth knowledge of the selected field of artistic or design activity, their motives for undertaking creative work, and their presentation of research interests. The candidate's achievements and the originality of the proposed doctoral dissertation will also be important factors. Additionally, the candidate's communication skills in the context of future didactic work with students are an important consideration.
In both stages of the recruitment process, candidates can earn up to 46 points. The minimum score required to qualify for entry to the list of candidates for the Doctoral School is 23 points.
5. Announcement of the recruitment results
Candidates will be informed of the initial results of the recruitment process via the Electronic Recruitment System on 09.07.2026.
6. Original documents required
By 30.09.2026, the candidate qualified for entry to the list of candidates to the Doctoral School is obliged to submit to the dean's office:
- a completed declaration concerning employment, doctoral scholarship and academic titles awarded (Appendix no. 2 to the Recruitment conditions and rules for the Doctoral School at the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław for the Academic Year 2026/2027),
- the original diploma or a certified copy of the diploma confirming completion of second-cycle studies or long-cycle Master’s studies, and in the case of holders of a doctoral degree, the original diploma or a certified copy of the doctoral diploma (a diploma obtained outside Poland must be legalized or provided with an apostille; additionally, in such cases, the applicant is required to submit the original diploma supplement or another equivalent document issued by the relevant higher education institution, containing a list of completed courses and obtained grades, e.g. a transcript of records,
- in the case of university graduates who successfully passed the diploma examination in the summer semester of the academic year in which the recruitment process takes place - a certificate of completion of studies and a diploma or a copy of a diploma within 14 days from the date of its issue by the university,
- a certificate confirming knowledge of a foreign language at a level of at least B2 (in accordance with Appendix no. 1 to the Recruitment conditions and rules to the Doctoral School at the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wroclaw) or a diploma certifying graduation in a foreign language,
- a copy of the certificate of disability, certificate of the degree of disability or certificate referred to in Article 5 and Article 62 of the Act of 27 August 1997 on vocational and social rehabilitation and employment of disabled people (if applicable);
- a scan of the visa or other document enabling legal stay in Poland.
