On February 6, 2026, an exhibition of paintings by Małgorzata Kaczmarska was opened at the BWA Gallery in Piła (Poland), presenting a selection of 24 oil paintings from a series dedicated to memory, created in 2017–2018.

The inspiration for the presented set of works is based on the life of artist's family in the interwar period and the exploration of documents and photographs from that period. In those artworks she considers the character of traces people leave. They may refer to the way of thinking, philosophy of life, attitudes, view of the world. It can also be a trace of appearance and behavior, someone's characteristic silhouette, sometimes the scale of the entire figure or its fragment, which remains in the memory of others in the form of a certain residual visual image.

The exhibition opening ceremony was broadcast online, and concluded with a guest performance by Monika Sroczyńska, who performed a short piano recital of her own compositions.
