smART'26

You are invited to the opening, which will take place on 27 March at 14:00 at Galeria Neon.

The smART'26 exhibition presents the achievements of selected doctoral students from three doctoral schools of Polish art academies: the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk, the Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków, and the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław.

A defining feature of doctoral school programs is the grounding of artistic practice in a deepened methodological and theoretical context, which is concretely expressed in the individual research plans carried out by doctoral students. The aim of the exhibition is to emphasize the research dimensions of the creative process behind each doctoral artwork. Every work on display is accompanied by a poster providing a concise overview of the project's main research and artistic goals, its theoretical background, and a description of the methods, technological solutions, and techniques used. Furthermore, the authors outline the project's expected artistic and cognitive outcomes, its novelty, and the anticipated impact on the discipline's development.

The creative approaches presented by the artists cover a very broad spectrum of formal solutions and substantive references. The unifying element of the smART'26 exhibition remains the emphasis on the research and cognitive dimensions of art.
