Art history is not merely a collection of past molds; it is a living heritage that feeds today's aesthetic understanding and creative practices. In this context, we are coming together for a special meeting where we will discuss the roots of classical Ottoman-Turkish art and its echoes in today's contemporary art universe.

In this event, to be presented by Selin Çakır, the position of Ottoman-Turkish art history in miniature figure art, and ornamental motifs, will be examined in depth. At the same time, mutual artistic exchanges established with Asia, the Middle East, and Europe, along with the universal language of İznik ceramics, will be addressed. One of the most exciting parts of the session will be the opportunity to take a close look at the production processes of contemporary Turkish artists who are modern-day representatives of these ancient forms.

All students and academic staff interested in discovering how classical traditions continue to inform contemporary aesthetics and in taking part in this cross-cultural dialogue are warmly invited.
