WHAT HAS REMAINED

Announcement
Published 19 Apr 2014

This is the fourth edition of a series of exhibitions titled “Hallo Wrocław 2016” related with awarding Wrocław the title of European Capital of Culture 2016. It is also the first joint presentation of the young academic environment of Wroclaw and Prague.

The title of the exhibition was borrowed from one of Bohumil Hrabal's stories. Arranged from snippets and refused variants it creates some kind of collage; it bases on all that has been rejected just like Salon des Refusés. |

"What has remained" encourages artists not only to experiment with fragments of their works, it can also indicate political and historical themes. It is also a theme which is open to the question of memory. Without memory we are as incomplete as Hrabal when he lost a cracked ring while he was feeding his cats.

The exhibition will take place in two locations:

the Polish Institute Gallery [Malé Náměstí 1, Praha 1]
and in the Trafačka Gallery [Kurta Konráda 1, Praha 9].

The vernissage is on 24 April, 2014 at 17:30 in the Polish Institute Gallery and at 19:00 in the Trafačka Gallery.

The exhibition in the Polish Institute Gallery: 24 April- 01 June, 2014.
The exhibition in the Trafačka Gallery: 24 April- 04 May, 2014.
