The Landscape Festival is currently taking place in Kadaň, Czech Republic, as part of which Magda Grzybowska from the Faculty of Sculpture and Art Mediation has prepared an in situ installation in the Church of St. Nicholas.
The Landscape Festival is a multidisciplinary platform that, for over ten years, has provided space for discussion about the quality of urban landscapes in towns and cities across Bohemia, Moravia, and Silesia.
The main idea behind the festival is to raise awareness of the scope, meaning, and importance of landscape architecture in relation to contemporary architecture, art, and public space.
The exhibition Sketches for Space by Magda Grzybowska will be open to visitors throughout the summer.

“Sketches for Space” is a series of objects and spatial interventions that create unique “situations” embedded in the context of places with exceptional aesthetic conditions, as well as historical and spiritual significance.
The works presented as part of the Landscape Festival Kadaň are made of steel, textiles, wax, and materials found on-site – in the Church of St. Nicholas – such as glass or insect wings.
They establish a relationship with the space through minimalist form, a subtle dialogue with the surroundings, and interaction with the viewer.
