Please join us for an exhibition by Muriel Condon and Noah Lagle - students visiting us from our partner institution -  the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

Muriel Condon:

In my creative practice I employ print, textiles, and paper to examine the unreliability of nostalgia and the comfort of tactility. The pieces for Stalemates use hand-made paper, monoprint and relief layers to reflect memories of textures, tastes, plates of food, reuse, and ephemeral touch.

Muriel Condon (b. 1993) grew up in the Rocky Mountains of the United States. After graduating from Montana State University in 2016 she has exhibited nationally, participated in multiple print exchanges, assisted at Frogmans Print Workshops, and was a Print Arts Northwest Emerging printmaker resident. She received her MFA in the spring of 2022 from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in Printmaking.

Noah Lagle:

The architecture of this work is anchored on a foundation of hard-edged shapes that are printed and layered using intaglio processes, cut paper stencils, and chine collé. My color choices and formal abstractions combine to reference analog mechanisms used in the organization and preservation of printed media, such as accordion folders, highlighted text, and splayed books.

Noah Lagle is pursuing his MFA in Printmaking at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Founder of Public Works Press, Lagle has printed and published the work of contemporary artists while facilitating public printmaking workshops.

He is also a musician, an outdoor educator, and an avid board game player.
