The didactic team

The Head of the Cathedral - Professor Michał Matuszczyk - conservator of monuments, apart from teaching work, deals with the conservation and restoration of works of art, mainly wall painting, polychrome sculpture and ceramics. Additionally, he conducts research on conservation materials and publishes in trade journals. His other passions: hunting for cheap flights, he devotes his free time to travelling close, far and very far - sometimes even with friends from our Cathedral.

Prof. Henryk Stoksik - Specializes in archaeological and contemporary ceramics, a mycological expert, has numerous publications, rationalisation proposals, projects and realizations. Other passions: team sports with volleyball indication and last-minute extra discipline to Portugal.

Maria Gąsior, PhD - art conservator. She deals with the conservation of sculpture, architecture and ceramics, research of historical objects and instrumental research of historical materials. She received a scholarship from POLITYKA in 2003 - "Stay with us" action. Other passions: culture of Peru, Wrocław, Kurpie, the Bug River Landscape Park, recently also ornithology.

Ewa Łukaszewicz-Jędrzejewska, PhD - art and architecture historian, specialist in documentation and revaluation of historic architecture, cooperates with studios designing revitalization of post-industrial objects, carries out historical and conservation studies, publishes. Other passions: Wrocław 1900-1945, last minute to Greece, cinema in the morning, September in the Tatra Mountains, F. Mercury and J. Cocker in a car, white port and 21 others.

Paweł Rzeźnik, PhD - an archaeologist with a predilection for studying historical ceramics of the early and late Middle Ages. In numerous scientific publications he undertakes work in the field of old pottery, ceramic masses, pottery tools and techniques. He rests in the rhythm of the seasons, with classical music, garden work, barbecue - necessarily with Czech beer - and on foot.

Zbigniew Burski, PhD - chemist, mycologist, material conservation expert. He is a co-author of a number of patents and rationalisation applications related to the conservation of walls, wood and concrete. He was awarded by the Minister of Culture for his work on the conservation of the Racławice Panorama and co-authored microwave technology for the conservation of walls and wood. His passions are: good book, smooth jazz, trips with friends around Europe and good wine.

Katarzyna Wantuch-Jarkiewicz, PhD - art conservator. She deals with the conservation of painting, sculpture, metal and glass heritage, research of historical objects. Her other passions: painting and gilding techniques, fascinating children, skiing in early spring, Mozart's music especially loud in the car with a view.

Łukasz Karkoszka, PhD - Studies at the Faculty of Ceramics and Glass at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław. Diploma realized in Prof. Przemysław Lasak's studio in 2005. Since 2006, he has been working at his home university, currently as an adjunct professor at the Artistic and Applied Ceramics Design Studio at the Chair of Conservation and Restoration of Ceramics and Glass. Ceramics is a medium which she uses in her work, both in sculpture and painting. The subject of its sculptural realizations is man, his transformed, transformed image. For him, man is only an excuse to create an ideal form, to work on a solid. Similarly, in painting, the most important thing is the experience of matter, colour and structure of clays, glazes and engobes.

Marcin Czeski, Phd - a stained-glass artist, conservator and restorer of stained-glass windows, in the years 2012 - 2017 an expert of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage in the field of stained-glass works. He deals with conservation and restoration of stained-glass windows and performs numerous original stained-glass works in architectural objects. He is mainly interested in his work and hobby, i.e. creation of new and conservation of historic stained-glass windows. He lives outside Wrocław in the countryside, which is not without significance for his well-being.

Piotr Romiński, M.Sc. - a ceramics artist, he does unique and industrial ceramics, drawings, reconstructs old ways of firing ceramics - crayfish furnace, paper furnace, Hungarian furnace. He took part in over 70 exhibitions in Poland and abroad, works in museum and private collections in Poland and abroad. He was awarded a POLITYKA scholarship for 2004 - "Stay with us" action. Other passions: trekking in the off-season, skiing with the Czechs, the history of Nisa/Neisse, sharp shooter in the virtual world and a good day movie, strong black and sweet coffee and 21 others.

Marta Proksz, MA - Master of Arts with specialization in Restoration and Reconstruction of Ceramics and Glass. She deals with stained-glass conservation and didactic work with students in the stained-glass workshop. In her free time, she is a fan of the mundane running around the fields and forests from time to time on concrete for charity. 

Katarzyna Czaja - Arkabus, MA - graduate of the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław. She defended her diploma in 2015 in the Stained Glass Conservation and Restoration Studio, where she is currently an assistant. On a daily basis, she is involved in didactic work and stained-glass works - both conservation and cooperation on new projects. Outside of work she is passionate about night-time summer walks, literature and good company...

Natalia Moszak MA - graduated from the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław (Painting 2009, Restoration and Reconstruction of Ceramics and Glass 2014, Art and Glass Design 2017). She completed studies within the Erasmus scholarship programme at the Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade de Lisboa, Portugal (2012). She completed a course organised by International Academic Projects entitled Conservation of Glass Objects (2015). She participated in the international ICOM - CC conference RECENT ADVANCES IN GLASS AND CERAMICS CONSERVATION (2016) and the International Ceramics and Glass Symposium OSTRAKON (2014, 2015, 2017). He works in teams on numerous conservation works of glass objects, paintings and polychrome sculpture. Other passions: theatre, film, plants, travel, vegetarian cuisine.
