In my graphic work, I explore the relationship between light and architecture. In their antagonistic combination, I find a unique visual connection with the spiritual and metaphysical dimension. Architecture, governed by abstract principles — measure, rhythm, proportion, and harmony — gives the elusive phenomenon of light, enclosed within its form, a clear structure and offers the viewer a sense of participation in a solemn mystery. The correlation between light and architectural form produces a similar effect in two-dimensional works. Through contact with light contained within the pictorial space, one can experience a particular kind of tranquility and a connection with the absolute.
