The opening will take place on 28 May, at 1.30pm, at CONCRETE Gallery.

This exhibition will present works completed both at the University of Tennessee - Knoxville in preparation for this exhibition and made during this four-week residency by Anthony Huang and Chloe Wack. This two-person exhibition will showcase each of the artist's individual processes of mark-making, abstraction, and distinctive color palette through a shared conceptual exploration of travel and mapping as methods for finding peace and reflection.

Huang's practice is influenced by the daoist philosophy "Wu Wei" and the idea of "travel and observation" which is a reflection of his need to find mental balance as a city dweller. Wack's process of tracing and stitching as methods for knowing and recording will be explored primarily through embroidered cyanotype prints. While both artists use different printmaking processes and methods of abstracting images, their shared interest in observation and recording through the experience of this residency will show their attention to placemaking and the process of making art as a way to better know different places and cultures.

Anthony Huang and Chloe Wack are in Wrocław on a two-month study visit resulting from a bilateral agreement between the E. Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław and the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
