Druga wizyta studentek Katedry Mediacji Sztuki w Tarnie, w Szwecji

The Second Visit of Students of Art Education to Tärna, Sweden.

From 19 May till 26 May, 2013 we journeyed with prof. Marek Stanielewicz and Mrs. Dorota Kopacz to Tärna Folk School to do together with Swedish students a workshop. Its purpose was to set up the Fashion Show.

During three days of work and play, we managed to find models for every costume brought from Wroclaw (designed and executed by the students from the Academy of Art and Design), create the choreography of the show, prepare make-up and stage setting.

Not all students from the very start accepted our idea, but that was the challenge. In the evenings there was always time for having fun together, playing Swedish games, dancing, going to the swimming pool, sauna, picnic, and movies.

Thursday was the day of the show at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Västerås (great post-industrial space). The director of the museum showed us around the building emphasizing various aspects of Swedish design (not excluding toilets) and democratic model of work organization (the director does not have his own office).

The weather wasn't favorable, it was cold, the wind ruffled models` dresses, attracting the attention of the audience to girls` slim legs. The appearance and performance of very character was rewarded with thunderous applause. Our professor, much composed, stood at the exit to the catwalk and watched over the whole. The evening ended up in the banquet given in our honour. It was great!

Friday and Saturday we spent on trips. We were in the village in north of Västerås, where we visited Contemporary Art Gallery (The Astley Gallery), a letterpress studio, an artist's apartment and a sculpture garden ...

In Stockholm, the main attraction besides the Museum of Contemporary Art were handsome and well-dressed men we spotted on the streets.

In summary, we are happy that we were in Sweden and we took part in the project. We know now that we have a lot of friends there who we would like, in turn, to host in Wrocław.

To Sweden and back took us quickly and safely the reliable Mr. Włodek.

Thanks to everyone who helped us make it happen.

Students : Justyna Bułat, Dzina Jelizarowa, Klaudyna Lewczuk, Kasia Kopacz, Ewa Roman
