Biographical note

Aleksandra Janik (1971), graphic artist, curator, head of the Studio of Digital and Experimental Printing at the Faculty of Graphic and Media Art, the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław, Poland. Area of artistic and research interests: transgressions printmaking–photography.

Achievements

  1. Scholarship within the Bekker Programme NAWA (Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange) for the artistic research project „Hybrid Printmaking” (Visiting researcher, Tokyo University of the Arts, Japan, 2021–2022);
  2. Post-digital printmaking. Redefinition of print (2017); Post-digital printmaking. Characteristic of the projects and research in which the PhD student is to be subsumed

Print-media and photo-media in contemporary art.

Interdisciplinary research and innovative art projects within traditional and emerging print and photo media; attempts to present a new classification and re-definition of printmaking and photography; hybrid printmaking, post-digital printmaking, transgression printmaking–photography; installation-based, object-oriented, performative printmaking and photography; formal experiments within digital printing on alternative substrates and commercial printing technology; adapting and searching for new techniques and solutions.

Characteristic of didactic cooperation between the supervisor and the PhD student

Curiosity of cultures, concepts and perspectives of others; willingness to work with students and faculty members of the Faculty of Graphics and Media Art for mutual artistic growth; high level of self-motivation to search for inspiring themes and create an artistic, educational and exhibit projects.
