Language policy

The E. Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wroclaw considers foreign languages as a vital part of higher education. All students receive instruction in one out of four European languages (English, German, French, Spanish). The foreign language course amounts to 240 hours. The classes focus on teaching the professional vocabulary and phrases, connected with the student’s future profession. We provide efficient and specialized language instruction to outgoing students in our Foreign Language Department. Students receive intensive courses (240 h) in English, German, French or Spanish, the intended level of completion is B2, with focus on professional language. Teaching for Special Purposes in embodied in the shape of two coursebooks created by our tutors; next are in preparation.   All incoming students and staff (staying at least for 1 semester) are offered a Polish language course in our HEI. Besides, they can enroll in the foreign language courses in our Foreign Language Department. There is a special course for academic staff focused on specialized language, which can be joined by visiting staff members. Language support is considered to be an important aspect of mobility activities.
