The North Bohemian Museum in Liberec

The exhibition is part of the official programme of Wrocław - European Capital of Culture 2016.

This exceptional and multi-dimensional exhibition will take place in all the above-ground spaces of the Liberec gallery; the ceramics and glass section of the exhibition will be displayed in the North Bohemian Museum in Liberec. As for the previous project, a catalogue will be published for this exhibition, compiled and designed by the Polish partner.

The exhibition takes place under the auspices of the Director of the Polish Institute in Prague, Mrs. Agnieszka Kwiatkowka.

The Eugeniusz Geppert Academy in Wroclaw was founded in 1946, symbolically and also in reality, out of the ruins of the former Academy of Fine Arts and Crafts established in 1932. The beginnings of the tradition of academic education in Wroclaw date from 1791.

At present, the Academy is divided into four faculties: the faculty of painting and sculpture, the faculty of graphic design and media art, the faculty of glass and ceramics and the faculty of interior architecture and design. Within these faculties, there are sixteen departments active in the fields of art and artistic design. To this day, several thousand graduates have graduated from the Wroclaw Academy, among whom are also Czech artists, even ones from Liberec.

The aim of education at the Academy is to provide an individual character to artistic studies, which not only draw on traditional art in the Wroclaw area, but are also open to the future, as the Academy allows the integration of new artistic media. Unlike the Czech environment, it does not set a fixed line between the fine and applied arts. The word TRANSDESIGN has two connotations with regard to the exhibition: crossing the boundaries between art and design to allow the integration of design and the fine arts, and in its first half, "trans" – a dialogue between two neighbouring countries.
