is the first such a large and interdisciplinary exhibition project using the Internet, carried out at the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wroclaw

"Convergence" has become true! The "Convergence" exhibition is the first such a large and interdisciplinary exhibition project using the Internet, carried out at the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wroclaw.
As a curatorial team, i.e. Scientific Club X Internet / Culture / Art, we proposed an open formula of applications allowing for unrestricted artistic expression. We wanted to show the whole range of creative attitudes of people connected with our Academy. Our aim was to show that the Internet and digital technologies can converge with the art of artists who have not yet used the network to present their artistic activities. In "Convergence", we are integrating the art of the Wroclaw Academy of Fine Arts - current and former students and lecturers - into one data stream thanks to the cooperation with the ScreenSaverGallery project from the Czech Republic. Please note that the screensaver is an elusive medium with which you cannot interact. The screensaver is supposed to protect the screen, this is its main function. Thanks to this ephemerality it also changes the perception of the displayed works. It should be added that the exhibition will be presented not only in our school, but also displayed on several thousand computers of ScreenSaverGallery users around the world. Anyone who has a computer and a network connection can download and install this application, which we strongly encourage to do.
We want "Convergence" to be a pretext for a discussion on the use of Internet technologies in art promotion. Above all, however, we want to activate our community and expand our artistic impact. In the time of dispersion, disintegration and loss of hope, our exhibition focuses, cultivates the community and encourages "cyberluddism".
